CAROLINE GAZEL – DESIGNER AND FOUNDER OF PORCELAINE MODERNE
Trained in interior architecture and product design at the Paris American Academy of Arts, she has developed over several years an approach to design rooted in the art of living and functionality.
Her work revolves around natural materials, with particular attention given to ceramics, which she considers an ideal creative medium: a material that allows a swift transition from idea to object, offering a high degree of production autonomy.
In 2020, she founded Porcelaine Moderne, a studio bringing together a manufacturing workshop, a research space and a setting for presenting collections. There, she designs everyday objects with refined lines, conceived to accompany simple gestures and to form part of a broader reflection on rhythm, care and our relationship with objects.
Her practice places strong emphasis on symbolism, use and the seasonality of collections.

Each object is born from a dialogue between simplicity and emotion.
The form is refined, essential, almost silent—leaving space for words, symbols, and small mantras that give meaning to the object. In this approach, design is never an end in itself: it becomes the vessel of an intimate experience, a discreet presence that accompanies everyday gestures.
The material—ceramic, glaze, and gold—is treated with respect, in the continuity of artisanal know-how where each stage is shaped by hand. These processes, both demanding and delicate, reveal the beauty of imperfection and the authenticity of the gesture.
